» Knowing this character's name? Unless it happens in a thread or is explicitly spoken about OOC, assume he's wiggled out of giving it. His network ID has been tweaked to SML.
» Is there anything ought not be mentioned near this character? Nah, go for it. I can't think of what you could say that he would actually care about aside from personal shit.
» Is there anything you need us to know about interacting with this character? Yes. Sefton has the ability to attract people to him — that is, he can inadvertently make people like him. This only works, however, if force is applied (i.e., tapping him on the shoulder / smacking him in the face / bumping into him / etc.), and the amount of attraction is always equal to the amount of force. A small tap isn't going to do much, but these things do add up. The effects do not fade except over long periods of no contact with Sefton. Using a light enough touch to not disrupt his field is a viable way of working around his power, but he obviously does not condone trying this except with people he really, really trusts.

(This whole thing is caused by Sefton's biomagnetic field and the subtle influence on a person's brain chemistry. If your character is sensitive to that sort of thing, it's perfectly fine if they notice. If they don't have brain chemistry to speak of, they are safe. This includes robots and spirits without actual bodies, etc.)

Effects are generally unnoticeable due to how slow and subtle they are. Right now, he is stuck with attracting people rather than repelling them; that requires an emotional trigger that Sefton is unwilling to try and master.

Note: hitting him anywhere from the shin and below while he has his shoes on is fair game. They're special like that.

» Anything else, please mention here: His application has a much better explanation of his power, seeing as I cannibalized this permissions post from a game over four years ago. Whoops?

» CHARACTER INFORMATION
Character NAME: Sefton Lowell
Character PULL-POINT: Spring, 2043. Missing child posters have been making their rounds in various East Coast states.
Character AGE: 15 years old.
Character APPEARANCE: As a still-growing young man somewhat stunted by the amount of energy his power demands from him, Sefton currently stands at 5'5" and weighs about 150lbs. His hair is a dark navy blue, his skin olive in coloration, and his eyes are a deeper violet that could be mistaken for a blue hue. His clothing tends to range in overly casual to only somewhat-casual in order to look appropriate for all of the odd-jobs he takes up to supplement his on-the-road lifestyle. Most notable (to him) are the blue tennis shoes that he almost never takes off (he even sleeps with them!): they are simple black, with ice-blue highlights and laces. They are his most prized possession and you'd have better luck getting his name than his shoes.
Character ABILITIES: As an adept... )

» EXSILIUM INFORMATION
Chosen WEAPON: Sefton will choose his cold-infused shoes for this honor, although he will takes a day or two to come to the decision. These shoes are special to him in that they use their infusion with the element of cold to convert his magnetic energy wherever it can reach into cold energy. While he wears these shoes, they drain his own energy instead of some electric power source but do give him a somewhat safe zone in regards to touching other people.

In the first phase, Sefton will gain a resistance to the element of cold wholesale. If he were to be hypothetically locked into a freezer for some crazy and zany reason, he would likely come out of it fine.

In the second phase, Sefton will be able to extend the surface of cold along his body (and thus his safe zone) using the appropriate amount of extra energy that would usually drain.

In the third phase, the shoes will begin to have a larger impact on the world around them and Sefton will be able to manipulate water sources nearby into becoming ice structures on instinct. Mostly just impromptu shields should he become threatened. This phase is purely out of his direct control, because...

In the fourth phase, Sefton will begin to gain waterbender-like abilities in manipulating water and ice around him (though without the necessity to channel it via martial arts, or the healing thing). Generally speaking, he will be able to learn how to use the water around him as a tool for protection — it won't occur to use it offensively unless someone else points it out to him, and even then he would be extremely reluctant to use it. This will extend into phase 4.5 where he can freely change water to ice and ice to water... once he learns the emotional capacity to properly open himself up to someone again.
Character INVENTORY: All of his worldly possessions, conveniently placed inside the messenger bag that he takes with himself everywhere. This includes various types of clothing for different types of weather, an umbrella, his wallet (which is actually in his pockets, but w/e), a mini-CD player and headphones, and knickknacks that Chivy sometimes foists off on him. Notably is the worry stone that Chivy presented to him on Christmas of 2042. Last, but not least, are his very special shoes (they are very nice, black-with-ice-blue-highlights sneakers in case you were wondering).

First PERSON: So... lemme get this straight. We've all just been drafted? Isn't there some kinda law to keep kids outta this? Where 'm I supposed to file the complaint? This's crazy.

[ There's a pained murmur, where he doesn't realize that the microphones on these tablets are really more sensitive than anything he has back home. ]

Why? I don't wanna fight anyone.
Third PERSON: Sefton's thread on the test drive meme.

» ADDITIONAL NOTES
Sefton will not be touching anyone of his own accord without talking it over with players first. He will not have a permissions meme for it, since it isn't something he does but needs to be held back from — it's something he holds off on and tries not to do. If you feel that does not matter, then let me know.
